Employment Services

The Mi’kmaq Confederacy Employment Services operates under a contribution agreement between the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI and the federal department of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.  These Employment Services provide and administer employment-based programs and services to all Aboriginal people living on PEI including status and non-status First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples living on and off reserve across the entire province.

As a client-focused program, the emphasis is on providing the supports clients need to return to work, as well as training to progress within their chosen field of work.

The Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI Employment Services (MCPEI ES) program continues to partner with several key players including valuable employers, training institutions, and government departments to develop and roll out meaningful initiatives that offer hands-on career exploration experiences.

Services are delivered in both urban and rural locations, with service sites on Lennox Island and Abegweit, as well as in Charlottetown and Summerside.
