Programs & Services

Our Sport Department works with Sport Canada, under its Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities (SSDIC) program, to deliver a wide array of sport, social and community activities that support a healthy and active Abegweit First Nation. For community members in need, our Sport Department also helps identify financial resources, such as KidSport, to support registration fees and equipment costs. In addition, the Sport Department oversees the management and maintenance of all community sport equipment and recreation facilities, including our community ballfield, outdoor skating rink and basketball court.
